In the soot dusted, rain soaked alleys of the Black City, courier Mose Ashblood does what he can to survive, the monotony broken only by heartbreak when his closest friend and the nobleman he loves announce their betrothal, and a shady delivery job that promises him a path to life worth living. 

When the delivery goes fatally wrong however, plunging his life and the city into chaos, Mose finds escape in a miraculous mirror world that could provide the fresh start he needs- save for a vicious assassin sent to maintain balance in a world that cannot survive while Mose exists in one world in two bodies- an assassin that just so happens to be wearing his face.

Torn between love, identity, and survival, Mose must decide what version of himself is worth saving- if any.
